Attorney General Emphasizes Quality Handling Of Corruption Cases

BANJARMASIN - Attorney General Burhanuddin stressed to the ranks of the South Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office to handle quality corruption cases while still using conscience and prioritizing wisdom in handling cases.

"I appreciate and am grateful for the performance of all work units within the South Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office in efforts to handle corruption crimes. Continue to prioritize quality cases," said Burhanuddin, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 8.

The quality in question is such as the perpetrators of public figures, the amount of the value of state losses, the amount of the return on state losses, the complexity of the case and if possible at the same time raising the money laundering case.

While conscience and wisdom are exemplified by the Attorney General as well as a village official who lacks knowledge of the rules has made the wrong policy in managing village finances.

However, the benefits of the policy are felt by the community, so the handling of the case must be considered carefully.

"If the loss to the state is relatively small and was carried out because of a lack of understanding of the rules, and it turns out that the community has benefited from the policy, try to reconsider," he explained.

Regarding the handling of corruption cases, the Attorney General acknowledged that corruption was one of the Prosecutor's storefronts. For this reason, he will evaluate each head of the work unit that performs less than optimally.

He reminds this is not the target. However, the Attorney General believes that there is no area that is free from corruption, unless the work units are able to prove otherwise to him.
