Retired From The National Police, Firli Bahuri: I Will Complete The Mandate Of The KPK Chairman Until December 2023
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed that he has entered retirement age and will end his tenure as a member of the National Police. Firli said she was happy because not all members of the Bhayangkara Corps had opportunities like her.
"Today I am 58 years old, the age of ending the active service of members of the National Police," said Firli in a written statement to reporters, Monday, November 8.
He admitted that he was grateful to be able to carry out his duties fully as a member of the Bhayangkara Corps. "Ending the active service period of members of the National Police in a plenary manner is a joy because not all members of the National Police can make it happen," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.
Firli said that he would continue his service as KPK chairman until December 2023. He ensures that he will be fully determined and will not have any burden in carrying out his duties.
"I have no burden, especially since I am not a political person, not a politician," he said.
"The time of service as an active Polri is over, with me ending my active service period on November 8, 2021. I ended my 37 years of service in the Polri since Sergeant Two of the Police on June 1, 1984 or 31 years of officer service after graduating from the Police Academy July 26, 1990. God willing, I will will complete the mandate of the KPK chairman until December 20, 2023," added Firli.
Firli Bahuri is entering retirement age based on Article 30 of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the National Police. For information, the maximum retirement limit for members of the National Police is set at the age of 58 years and applies to all rank groups.
However, this term of office can be extended until the age of 60 years as long as the member has special skills that need to be maintained.
Prior to serving as Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri had been an aide to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Boediono. Not only that, he has served as Deputy Chief of the Banten Police, Karopaminal Divpropam Polri, and Kapolda Banten.
In addition, he has also served as Deputy Chief of the Central Java Police, West Nusa Tenggara Police Chief, South Sumatra Police Chief, and Head of the National Police Security Maintenance Agency. While at the KPK, Firli served as Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.
