PPKM Outside Java-Bali Extended Until November 22
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the implementation of PPKM outside Java and Bali was extended for two weeks from 9 to 22 November 2021.
This he conveyed in a statement related to the results of the limited meeting of the PPKM evaluation chaired by President Joko Widodo.
"The extension of PPKM outside Java-Bali for the period of November 9 to 22 or an extension of 2 weeks with the criteria for the assessment level added to the achievement of vaccinations," said Airlangga in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Monday, November 8.
Airlangga said active cases of COVID-19 outside Java-Bali as of November 7, 2021 were 5,500, down 97.5 percent from the peak of cases. Then, daily confirmed cases experienced a downward trend of up to 99.5 percent from its peak on August 6, 2021.
"Active cases outside Java-Bali contributed 51.4 percent of the total national cases," he said.
In implementing PPKM outside Java-Bali in the next two weeks, 22 provinces will implement PPKM Level 2 and 5 provinces will apply PPKM Level 1.
Then at the district/city level, the areas that have dropped the assessment to level 1 have also increased. "In regencies/cities, the number of level 1 increased by 151 regencies/cities. Then there are no (regions applying PPKM) at level 4. There are 4 districts at level 3, and there are 231 districts/cities at level 2, and 151 districts/cities in level 1," explained Airlangga.
Meanwhile, in terms of vaccination achievements, there are only 6 provinces whose numbers are above the national level, namely Riau Islands, Bangka Belitung, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, NTB, and North Sulawesi. Meanwhile, the vaccination achievement of other provinces is below the national one.
Even so, the government raised the regional PPKM assessment level with indicators of vaccination achievement. Districts/cities with vaccination achievements below 50 percent are raised by one PPKM level.
"Thus, there are 156 regencies/cities whose assessment is level 2 because the vaccination is below 50 percent, so it was raised to level 3. So that a total of 160 regencies/cities at level 3. At level 2 there are a total of 175 regencies/cities, and at level 1 there are 51 regencies/cities,” he added.
