Disaster Mitigation At The Mandalika SEZ Ahead Of The Strengthened World Superbike

CENTRAL LOMBOK - The Mataram Basarnas conducted a Regional SAR Exercise (Latsarda) in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Kuta Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara to improve disaster mitigation for the World Superbike event (WSBK) on 19-21 November 2021.

Head of the Mataram Search and Rescue (SAR) Office Nanang Sigit PH said in the near future mobility in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone will increase as a result of the WSBK event which will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit Lombok.

"This international event will increase mobility at The Mandalika. To anticipate things that are not desirable, we carry out exercises to strengthen disaster mitigation," said Head of the Mataram SAR Office Nanang Sigit PH quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 7.

Meanwhile, Director of Preparedness of the Mataram Basarnas Agus Haryono said the joint training activity with the TNI, Polri and other related agencies was in the context of a travel warning related to healthy, safety, and security protocols, where the Mandalika area is one of the five Super Priority Tourism Areas (DPSP). ) which has been determined by the central government.

"This Mandalika is a national strategic project, so its security must continue to be improved," he said.

With the training, it is hoped that tourists who will come to the Kuta Mandalika SEZ or the audience of the WSBK event are guaranteed their services from the aspects of health, safety, security on land and at sea.

"We want to prove that The Mandalika is safe to be visited by tourists, both from within and outside the country," he said.

In addition to conducting exercises, next week his party will also conduct safety simulations for handling tourism bus accidents, sinking ships and evacuation of WSBK rider accidents.

"In addition to deploying extrusion equipment, Basarnas has also deployed KN SAR Kamajaya, as well as Basarnas Helly Rescue (HR) 3603 helicopters to support security in the Mandalika SEZ," he said.
