Rumored This Week, The Palace Has Not Yet Scheduled The Inauguration Of Andika Perkasa
JAKARTA - Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives has approved General Andika Perkasa to become the TNI Commander to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, who will retire this November.
Furthermore, the decision of Commission I of the DPR will be brought to a plenary meeting. However, this time has only been proposed to be held at the nearest plenary session, namely Monday, November 8.
The chairman of Commission I of the DPR, Meutya Hafid, was reluctant to mention the exact date because the DPR's Deliberative Body (Bamus) had not yet sent a letter. Because, it is also the authority of the leadership of the DPR.
After approval was taken by members of the DPR, President Joko Widodo was reported to be soon inaugurating General Andika as commander in chief.
However, the Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono, said that the palace had not yet scheduled the agenda for the inauguration of Andika Perkasa as TNI Commander. Because, he said, currently the process is still in the administrative stage.
"There is no schedule yet. It's still in the administrative process," Heru told reporters, Sunday, November 7.
Regarding rumors that Andika would be sworn in by Jokowi on Wednesday, November 10, Heru dismissed them. The reason is that Jokowi's schedule is already packed until Wednesday this week.
"Wednesday 10 November, the President's schedule is already packed," he said.
Heru said that on that day Jokowi would receive the arrival of Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob. In addition, Jokowi is also scheduled to attend the commemoration of Heroes' Day which falls on November 10.
"Mr. President is scheduled to attend the commemoration of November 10 at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery. Then, the awarding ceremony will be continued at the State Palace. Next, he will receive the Malaysian PM at the Bogor Palace," said Heru.
