Subdued By Manchester City, Solskjaer: They Played Well
JAKARTA - The bitter result must be accepted by Manchester United when they host Manchester City in the 11th week of the 2021 English League because they lost 0-2. This makes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feel disappointed and hopes the team can return to maximum performance after the international break.
"I'm sure when we come back the players' minds will be fresher after the international break," Solskjaer said after the game.
In the match which was held at Old Trafford Stadium, Saturday, November 6, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that his team did not show maximum performance. He said that most of the possession of the ball was on the opposing side.
"They (Manchester City) played well, of course they don't give you a chance to take the ball away from them," said Solskjaer.
The Norwegian coach also admitted that the defeat in this Manchester derby was a tough thing for him and the team because it involved prestige and achievement. For that, Ole is strongly determined to revive the performance of his foster children to be able to return to a positive trend.
"It's tough going through a game like this and we understand everyone's frustration and disappointment, but the players will give everything," he said.
"The staff will also help as much as possible to be able to return to our original form: Manchester United who are attacking, pressing and positive. We will do what we can," concluded Solskjaer.
For Solskjaer himself, this Manchester derby defeat could make his position as manager increasingly threatened. The reason is, in his three years of leadership, Ole has often reaped bad results and has not won a trophy for the Reds.
