Visiting Gilang Endi's House, UNS Chancellor Jamal Expresses Apology
SOLO - The Chancellor of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta Jamal Wiwoho and his staff visited the parents' house of Gilang Endi Saputra (21), a student who died while attending Basic Education and Training (Diklatsar) of the Student Regiment (Menwa).
At the house of Gilang Endi's parents in Keti Hamlet, Dayu Village, Karangpandan, Karanganyar Regency, Jamal apologized for the incident.
"On behalf of UNS, I apologize for what happened to the late Gilang while attending the UNS Menwa Training and Education. Hopefully, the late Gilang will be accepted by Allah SWT and Husnul Khatimah," he said in Solo, reported by Antara, Sunday, November 7.
During the visit, Jamal was accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for Research and Innovation of UNS, Kuncoro Diharjo and the Secretary General of the UNS Alumni Family Association (IKA), Bambang Wahyudi.
In addition, classmates of the late Gilang Endi Saputra from the Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Study Program UNS Vocational School were also present.
Regarding the investigation into the Gilang Endi case, his party handed over the investigation and investigation process to the police.
"UNS's stance is very clear, namely supporting efforts to investigate and resolve this case so that truth and justice are upheld for all parties. Therefore, UNS is very supportive and cooperative with the investigation efforts being carried out by the police, in this case the Investigation Team from the Polresta Surakarta," he said.
He said the form of support and cooperative attitude was to provide the widest possible access to the Surakarta Police Investigation Team to obtain the necessary documents, inspect relevant locations within UNS, and summon students, lecturers, and education staff for questioning by Investigative Team.
After the visit, Jamal and his entourage also took the time to visit the grave of the late Gilang Endi Saputra. Meanwhile, related to the visit, the parents of the late Gilang, Sunardi, welcomed it.
"Thank you for coming to our house. We really appreciate the case titles carried out by the Surakarta Police and Central Java Police and the suspects have been determined. We from the family strongly support the investigation and investigation process carried out by the police," he said.
Gilang died last Sunday, October 24. Gilang died on the second day of the UNS Menwa Diksar activities in the Jurug area, Solo. This case was reported to the police after his parents saw that there were several wounds on Gilang's body.
