The 13 languages are French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Canadian, Korean, Malayalam, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Tamil and Telugu. Thus, users from Indonesia can start a new conversation room by pressing a button, such as Start Room and Corridor.
"So this language localization makes Clubhouse accessible to millions of non-English speaking people around the world and is one of the most requested features by the community," said Clubhouse.
At this early stage, support for the new 13 languages in the new Clubhouse app is available for Android users and will be coming to iOS soon. The new language options will provide more opportunities for the Clubhouse's international expansion, which continues to grow. According to App Annie stats, Clubhouse has now reached 32.7 million total downloads globally. India currently leads with 10.3 million. The app has been downloaded 5 million times in the US, and 2 million times in Japan, which are the top three markets for the platform.
Along with the launch of the language, Clubhouse also introduced a new app icon, through a person named Anirudh Deshmukh. He is a multi-talented architect from India. Anirudh can also sing, write songs, produce, and much more.
Since joining Clubhouse in early 2021, Anirudh has managed to gain 72 followers thanks to the club he created. Anirudh provides content in the Clubhouse room, such as music, reading poetry, to sharing life experiences with his audience through the Late Night Jam program.
