Twitter Launches New Feature To View Old Tweets

JAKARTA - Twitter has started rolling out new capabilities for users who don't want their old tweets on their profiles or looking for specific tweets on other users' profiles. This feature that makes it easy to find individual users' tweets has arrived on iOS.

The company says the feature is already available to all global users on iOS and will continue to roll out slowly on the web and Android versions in the coming months.

The feature was first reported by social media watcher Matt Navarra that the new search button was starting to appear for users in September 2021. One month later, XDA Developers realized that the button had been rolled out widely to everyone using the Twitter iOS app.

It is known, Twitter has long had an advanced search filter feature on its platform, both on desktop and mobile. This allows users who wish to narrow down their search with more precise parameters to do so. One of them is by using the username in the search field directly. However, it will be difficult to find the desired tweet through this filter.

Citing TechCrunch, Saturday, November 6, therefore, Twitter presents a new way to search for tweets from an account. For those who already have access, when they open another user's profile, they will see a search icon in the upper right corner of the screen on the user's profile, next to the three-dot menu. Then, they can type in keywords to search for the user's tweets.

For example, if you search for the keyword "Twitter", all tweets containing that keyword will appear in the profiles of the users you visit. This new feature shortens search times instead of having to scroll through dozens of daily tweets to find what you're looking for.

Chances are, this new Twitter feature is a great social media strategy, where users will no longer be tweeting potentially harmful content in the first place, and also delete their old tweets.
