Warner Bros. Launches NFT The Matrix Avatar
JAKARTA – Film producer Warner Bros. has begun to venture into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFT). Warner Bros. plans to release NFT's "The Matrix Resurrections" on December 22.
Previously, they had launched NFT Space Jam in collaboration with Nifty's Inc. NFT comes from "Space Jam: the recently released: A New Legacy," which stars the famous Looney Tunes cast of characters and NBA star LeBron James as reported by Bitcoin.com News.
The company has joined forces with other entertainment companies such as Fox, Lionsgate, Dolphin, and ViacomCBS. In addition, WWE and UFC which focus on professional wrestling and MMA are also rumored to have entered the NFT space.
According to a statement sent to The Hollywood Reporter, the official NFT Matrix will be the avatars of the people in the Matrix. NFT avatars will start on November 30 but on December 16, basic avatar owners will have a choice of either a “blue pill” or a “red pill.” If they take the “blue pill”, the owner of the NFT avatar will remain in the Matrix but if the “red pill” is taken, the NFT will change.
Based on the announcement, Nifty's and Warner Bros. will continue to maintain the NFT Matrix community with “frequent challenges.” The upcoming film, “The Matrix Resurrections,” will be released 18 years after the last film – “The Matrix Revolutions.” The film will star an original cast such as Keanu Reeves (Neo) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity). The entry of a number of entertainment industry giants will enliven the NFT space which is currently hype.
