Denpasar DPRD Approves Denpasar-Darwin "Sister City" Cooperation

DENPASAR - Denpasar City DPRD, Bali approved the cooperation of "Sister City" Denpasar City and Darwin City, Australia. The cooperation covers three areas, namely the promotion of tourism and culture, the development of the creative economy, and the development of human resource capacity.

Denpasar City Secretary Ida Bagus Alit Wiradana said his party would like to thank the council for approving the cooperation between the two countries.

\Alit Wardana said the collaboration was to form partners to improve welfare and provide better public services.

"The request for approval was made to follow up on the Letter of Intent (LoI) between Denpasar City and Darwin City which was signed on June 28, 2021 to become a memorandum of understanding (MoU)," said Alit Wiradana, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 5.

Meanwhile, Denpasar City DPRD member Ketut Suteja Kumara asked that the Denpasar City Government should make maximum use of this collaboration to promote culture and tourism and learn to develop the creative economy from the City of Darwin.

"This condition can be used as an event to promote the area to the city that will be invited to cooperate. Even this opportunity can also open up student exchange opportunities between Denpasar and Darwin," he said.

Furthermore, the decision of this council will be submitted to the Mayor of Denpasar through the regional secretary to be processed in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
