Lamongan Flash Flood, 3 Broken Embankment Points
LAMONGAN - Three points of the embankment collapsed due to flash floods that hit Lamongan Regency, East Java, each point of the water retaining embankment is in Lamong River, Mengkuli River and Plalangan River.
Head of the Emergency Response Section of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lamongan Regency, Muslimin, said that the flash floods have now begun to recede, but the losses due to the disaster are estimated to reach tens of millions of rupiah.
Muslimin explained that flash floods hit Lamongan Regency on Thursday, November 4 in two villages located in Ngimbang and Sugio Districts.
For Ngimbang Subdistrict, flash floods hit Sendangrejo Village, with affected hamlets, including Bujel, Jedung and Tapas Hamlets.
Furthermore, in Sugio District, flash floods hit Kalitengah Village, with the affected hamlets being Jegrek and Buluplapak hamlets.
Muslimin said the flooding was caused by heavy rainfall, as a result 25 houses in Bujel Hamlet were submerged in water with a height of about 50 centimeters, then one shop owned by Irawan was swept away by the flood, with an estimated nominal material loss of Rp 7 million.
For Jedung Hamlet, which is also included in the Sendangrejo Village area in Ngimbang District, it was recorded that two residents' houses were submerged in water, one motorbike and one shop owned by Hartono were swept away with an estimated loss of Rp. 10 million.
"There were five residents' houses that were submerged, with an average water level of about 50 centimeters," said Muslimin, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 5.
For Sugio District, nine houses in Buluplapak Hamlet, Kalitengah Village, were submerged with water levels reaching 10 to 30 centimeters.
Meanwhile in Jegrek Hamlet, the axis road 40 meters long and 3 meters wide was damaged, with a water depth of about 1.5 to 2 meters.
Muslimin said that for now the Lamongan Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) is still on standby in the field, and is coordinating and conducting rapid assessments at flood locations.
This is to anticipate further flooding, one of which is by cleaning the river flow that empties into the Gondang reservoir in Sugio District.
Meanwhile, the potential for rain with light to moderate intensity will still occur in Lamongan Regency, this refers to the BMKG weather forecast until Sunday, November 7th.
In an effort to deal with the anticipation of La Nina, BPBD Lamongan appealed to the public to further increase vigilance and preparedness at the smallest level, namely the family.
