BUKITTINGGI - The Bukittinggi Police's Criminal and Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) arrested a suspected sodomy suspect of a minor by a former Jorong Mayor in Agam, West Sumatra.
Head of PPA III of the Bukittinggi Police, Tiara Nur R, said that the suspect with the initials A (52) was arrested in Ampek Angkek Sub-district, Agam Regency, on Thursday, November 4, after trying to escape from being chased by officers.
"We received information from the victim's parents, the suspect is a former Jorong Mayor, when he was arrested he fled but was caught by the Bukittinggi Police Buser team," said Ipda Tiara in Bukittinggi, Friday.
He said the information about the existence of sodomy actors in the area was troubling the residents. His party was also looking for the beginning of the incident and who the perpetrators were from the victim's statement.
He explained that the suspect admitted to his actions that had been carried out since 2020 to the victim who was 14 years old and had just entered junior high school.
"The suspect did his actions in the house and in the bathroom of the mosque many times, he persuaded the victim with money and even wanted to buy a motorbike," he said.
According to him, the victim was bullied by the perpetrator since he was in sixth grade. "His condition is still traumatized, we will provide psychiatric assistance to the victim," said Tiara.
"I regret what I did, the origin was because of the influence of the gay video I watched," said A, when asked for a statement.
