Social Minister Risma Will Review The Impact Of Flash Floods In Batu City
JAKARTA - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini will visit Batu City in East Java Province to review the impact of the flash floods that hit on Thursday, November 4.
"I was just about to go there," said Risma at the Jakarta Social Ministry office, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 5.
Social Minister Risma said a work unit from the Ministry of Social Affairs had arrived in areas affected by flash floods in Batu City on Friday at around 06.00 WIB.
He is waiting for a report from the work unit of the Ministry of Social Affairs to prepare the support needed to deal with disaster victims and the impact of floods in Batu City.
The Ministry of Social Affairs will also coordinate with local governments in helping to deal with the impact of disasters in Batu City.
"We are still communicating," said Risma.
Flash floods on Thursday, November 4 hit several parts of Batu City, including Sambong Hamlet and Beru Hamlet in Bulukerto Village as well as Sumber Brantas Village and Punten Village in Bumiaji District.
In addition, flash floods hit Dieng Highway in Sidomulyo Village and Selecta Highway in Tulungrejo Village, Batu District.
According to data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Batu City, the disaster caused five people to die.
"A total of five people (victims). Six were rescued and four are being searched," said the Head of BPBD Batu Agung Sedayu.
