The case of gratification and money laundering offences that ensnared Puput is a development of the alleged corruption case in the selection of positions within the Probolinggo Regency Government in 2021.

The KPK has named a total of 22 suspects in the alleged corruption case in the selection of positions.

As recipients, namely Puput, Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Hasan Aminuddin (HA) who is also Puput's husband and once served as Regent of Probolinggo, Doddy Kurniawan (DK) as State Civil Apparatus (ASN)/Camat Krejengan, Probolinggo Regency, and Muhammad Ridwan (MR) as ASN/Camat Paiton, Probolinggo Regency.

In the construction of the case, the KPK explained that the second simultaneous village head election in the Probolinggo Regency area, which was originally scheduled for 27 December 2021, has been postponed.
