Ministry Of Religion Prepares One Stop Umrah Congregation Departure Scheme

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion continues to arrange the implementation of Umrah worship during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of which is preparing a one-door Umrah departure scheme through Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"We need to convey to the otban (airport authority) that the Ministry of Religion is marathonly preparing various technical matters as an anticipatory measure for the opening of Umrah during the pandemic," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Monitoring and Supervision of Umrah and Special Hajj at the Ministry of Religion, M. Noer Alya Fitra, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 4th.

He explained the one-door Umrah congregation departure scheme in order to facilitate control, supervision, ensure the health, security and safety of the congregation carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, the Hajj hostel will also be the starting point for the departure of Umrah pilgrims.

"Umrah pilgrims must be clear in the Hajj dormitory, both in terms of completeness of travel documents and their health. Therefore, we urgently need the assistance of OBT to ensure that the Hajj hostel facilities meet the requirements to be used as an international departure place, such as services for regular Hajj pilgrims," he said. .

The Head of Region I Airport Authority, Yufridon Gandoz Situmeang, expressed his appreciation for the steps taken by the Ministry of Religion.

The airport is ready to support the Ministry of Religion in preparing Umrah services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Regarding technical matters in the Hajj hostel, we will immediately evaluate its readiness as an international terminal. With a concept like the regular Hajj, it means that the Hajj hostel has carried out health checks and immigration for Umrah pilgrims, including transportation equipment from the dormitory to the airport, must be properly saved. and secure'," he said.

According to him, flights for Umrah pilgrims are safer with direct flights.

He also suggested that the planes used by the Umrah pilgrims should not be accompanied by regular passengers.

"We must ensure that Umrah pilgrims are safe and not exposed to COVID-19 while traveling, so it would be better if they did not mix with regular passengers," he said.
