JAKARTA - The Rain band presents a new single entitled Salam Dari Your Mother to welcome 20 years of work. The band consisting of Indra Prasta (lead vocals, guitar), Iwan Tanda (guitar, vocals), Ipul Bahri (bass, vocals) and Aang Anggoro (drums, vocals) said that the song is an opening to celebrate two decades of The Rain.

"Warm up while preparing to welcome 20 years of The Rain in December," said Indra through his official statement on Wednesday, November 4.

The song Salam from your mother tells the story of falling in love with one's best friend. When they have been friends for a long time and know each other's secrets, it turns out that there are feelings that arise.

However, love only goes one way. The tit for tat, is described literally through the lines of the lyrics.

"I imagine a friend zone condition that is complicated and already difficult to change. He is close to his family, already considered like his own child by his mother, but still only considered as a friend by him. It's that complicated," said Indra.

The music is packaged in an arrangement that sounds different from The Rain's songs that have been released so far. There is an ambient feel that permeates warmly throughout the song.

"It's fun to try new things without losing the character of The Rain. This new album will be very colorful," said Aang.

Since mid-2021, The Rain has decided to refocus on continuing to work on the seventh album, which has been delayed for a long time. The Rain's last studio album released was "Jabat Erat" in 2016.

Iwan said that initially The Rain planned to make the album The Best of The Rain to celebrate its 20th anniversary. However, during the practice session, it turned out that they made a lot of new works.

"So we decided to celebrate the two decades of The Rain by releasing a new line of songs through this album. New song, new chapter, new spirit," said Iwan.
