Anies Baswedan Donates Limousine Cattle

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and his deputy Ahmad Riza Patria each donate one limousine cow. These cows were donated to increase the number of sacrificial animals for civil servants (PNS) throughout Jakarta, which numbered 156 cows and 259 goats.

"We are entrusting a cow with a weight of 1.3 tons, then the cow from the Deputy Governor, weighing one ton, which will be slaughtered at the Dharma Jaya Slaughterhouse," said Anies at the Jakarta City Hall as reported by Antara, Friday, July 31st.

Anies said that the slaughter of sacrificial animals would be carried out at the Dharma Jaya RPH to avoid crowds. This decision was taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"In total there are more than 800 cows (as sacrificial animals) in the slaughterhouse. But from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government itself, 160 cows from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government are entrusted to Dharma Jaya. So the slaughter is not here, but in Dharma Jaya," said Anies.

The cows are then transported by truck to be slaughtered and distributed. Four zakat institutions, namely Baznas-Bazis DKI, Yayasan Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), the Rumah Zakat Foundation and the Human Initiative, will distribute qurbani meat to the less fortunate.

Previously, Anies handed over 34 cows from the Jakarta State Civil Service (ASN) through KORPRI with 12 cows, BUMD Academy with 20 cows, PT JNE two cows and DKI Syariah Bank for two cows.

The slaughter of sacrificial animals is carried out at the Dharma Jaya RPH while ensuring the health of the animals, ensuring the quality and cleanliness of the meat produced from the slaughtering process, to the processing.

PD Dharma Jaya will also ensure that sacrificial animals are slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law and the implementation of health protocols to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak.
