Appoint Denny Sumargo As Club President, This Is Louvre's Strong Reason
JAKARTA - The basketball club from Surabaya, Louvre is confirmed to be the only representative of Indonesia in the 2022 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) competition. Successfully advancing to the Southeast Asia and Pacific basketball competition, Louvre doesn't want to just ride through.
As a form of seriousness, the Louvre not only prepares the team in terms of players but also mature management. One of them is by appointing Denny Sumargo as club president.
This was conveyed directly by Chandra Putra Nagara. The Louvre chairman gave a strong reason for choosing Denny Sumargo to escort the team through the 2022 ABL later.
“We need someone who is loved by people in Indonesia. If there is Atta Halilintar on YouTube, for basketball, Denny Sumargo appears," said Chandra Putra Nagara from a written statement received by VOI.
“The character I see can make this team go even better going forward. This is the figure that is needed at the Louvre Surabaya at this time," added the Chairman.
The appointment of Denny Sumargo as president of the Louvre club is not without reason. The reason is, Denny Sumargo, who is now active as a content creator, is a former national basketball player.
Densu - his nickname - also played for Aspac Jakarta and Garuda Flexi. With this sufficient experience, Denny Sumargo is expected to be able to guide and transmit a big influence on players when competing later.
"With a view that is built in such a way, Denny Sumargo is a basketball player who has a very good mentality when playing and we are interested in partnering with him," said Eric Herlangga as manager of the Louvre.
In addition to appointing a club president, the Louvre's preparation ahead of appearing in the 2022 ABL is by appointing Brian Rowsom as coach. He was the right choice because he had brought CSL Knight Surabaya to win the 2019 ABL.
