One Suspected Terrorist Arrested By Densus 88 In Lampung Turns Out To Be An Elementary School Principal

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror stated that one suspected terrorist with the initials DRS who was arrested in Lampung worked as an elementary school principal. Currently being investigated about the possibility of spreading the notion of radicalism in schools.

"This is still being investigated regarding the person concerned," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Wednesday, November 3.

According to Ramadhan, DRS information is still being explored regarding its role in the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.

From the results of the interim examination, it is known that DRS is the chairman of the Baitul Maal Abdurrahman bin Auf (BM ABA) charitable foundation. Where, the foundation pledged allegiance to JI.

"DRS brother once served as chairman of the BM ABA amil zakat institution in the period 2018, 2019 and 2020. But he was concerned as a secretary," said Ramadhan

"The person concerned knows very well the flow of funds using the money collected by the foundation," he continued.

In addition, from the examination and available evidence, DRS is known to be a member of the JI terrorist group. He has long pledged allegiance to the emir or JI leadership.

"The person in question is also a member of JI, of course, he has taken allegiance to the emir of JI," said Ramadhan.
