King Salman Recovers After Gallbladder Surgery

JAKARTA - Saudi Arabian ruler King Salman bin Abdulaziz left King Faisal Hospital in the capital Riyadh after recovering, the SPA News Agency reported on Thursday, July 30.

The 84-year-old leader was admitted to hospital on July 20 for a medical examination, after experiencing inflammation of his gallbladder which was successfully removed by surgery.

In the video released by SPA, King Salman is seen walking outside the hospital accompanied by aides and his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, wearing masks. King Salman walked with the help of a stick.

The monarch, who has ruled the world's biggest oil producer and a close US ally since 2015, chaired a video meeting from the hospital last week before undergoing surgery.

In the video shown by a number of state media, he is seen reading and examining documents.
