Wenger's Praise For Wrong Ahead Of Liverpool Vs Flamengo

Jakarta - There is special praise for Mohamed Salah from former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger. The Liverpool star is considered to have the same qualities as Lionel Messi.

Salah won two Premier League Golden Boot trophies in the last two seasons, although last season he shared the title with Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and another Reds striker Sadio Mane. This season, Egyptian players have scored 13 goals in all competitions.

The former Roma and Fiorentina forward also provided seven assists, one of which was when he helped Naby Keita score the opener in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Monterrey in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, Wednesday, December 18.

Acting as a playmaker as well as being an accurate finisher, Wenger believes Salah is now showing quality play at the same level as the Barcelona superstar and 2019 Ballon d'Or winner Messi.

"I like the evolution (Salah)," Wenger told beIN Sports. "Because he's got the touch (against Monterrey) of a playmaker."

"He creates incredible opportunities around the box, there is a Messi nuance in him and I love that a player who can score so many goals is also the one who assists.

"He is a complete player. That's what we all admire and what we want from our players."

Meanwhile, Liverpool will face Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo in the Club World Cup final on Saturday. The Brazilian club kicked Al Hilal 3-1 in the semifinals.

Midfielder Adam Lallana said the Reds were addicted to winning trophies because they wanted to add this championship to their collection. This is a great opportunity for the Premier League leaders after winning the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup this year.

"We will try our hardest. It's like addiction: you win one medal and you want to win another. You want to win more," said Lallana.

Lallana said, Flamengo players were very dynamic, aggressive, and relied on physical strength. But Liverpool have two Brazilian players who can give them advice on the weaknesses of their potential opponents.

"It will be a very difficult match. I'm sure Bobby (Firmino) and Alisson will give us info about them."
