Simeulue Aceh Regency Government Develops Mincau Island Tourism Destinations
BANDA ACEH - The District Government (Pemkab) of Simeulue, Aceh, through the Department of Culture and Tourism is developing a tourist destination for Mincau Island in the Indian Ocean to increase tourist visits.
Head of the Culture and Tourism Office Simeulue Asmanuddin said that the Mincau Island tourist attraction is currently still in natural condition. Mincau Island is part of the administrative area of West Teupah District.
"We have included the Mincau Island tourist destination in our tourism development plan and will soon develop it into a tourist visit area," said Asmanuddin as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 3.
Asmanuddin said before the COVID-19 outbreak, Mincau Island was a mainstay tourist attraction in Simeulue Regency that was offered to foreign tourists.
"In the tourist guide book in Simeulue, Mincau Island is included in the mainstay tourist attraction. We are also studying infrastructure development on the island," said Asmanuddin.
In addition to Mincau Island, Asmanuddin said Sepongebob Island in Bunon Village, Teupah Barat District, is also included in the master plan for developing regional tourism in Simeulue Regency.
According to Asmanuddin, the planning will be carried out in 2022. However, if possible, the spatial plan for the construction of the tourist attraction will be carried out this year.
"We are planning to develop these tourist objects, there are several other tourist objects in Simeulue that we are also preparing," said Asmanuddin.
Asmanuddin said the Simeulue Regency Government continues to develop tourism objects. Not only island and sea tourism, but also mountains and others.
"We will develop all the interesting tourist objects in Simeulue, so that they will attract tourist visits, both domestic and foreign," said Asmanuddin.
