BBKSDA North Sumatra Released 2 Penguins To TWA Sibolangit

MEDAN - The Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA) of North Sumatra released two rare and protected species of pangolin (Manis Javanica) to the Sibolangit Nature Tourism Park (TWA) area.

"The two released pangolins are mother and child," said North Sumatra BBKSDA Public Relations Officer Handoko Hidayat in Medan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 3.

Handoko said the two released animals were the result of the community's handing over to the conservation agency assisted by BBKSDA on Saturday, October 30.

"Furthermore, we will take two pangolins to Sibolangit TWA to be released into the wild," he said.

The release of the pangolin is a special moment in the context of the road to the 2021 National Puspa and Animal Love Day (HCPSN).

Through this moment, the community is invited to participate in protecting and preserving wildlife.

"Active community participation can be done in various ways, one of which is by informing or submitting wild animals to BBKSDA officers to be released into their habitat," he said.
