Kabareskrim Reveals The Process Of Arresting Djoko Tjandra

JAKARTA - The Head of Criminal and Criminal Investigation Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, directly picked up fugitive Djoko Tjandra in Malaysia. The 11-year-old fugitive will be immediately taken to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police Headquarters for further investigation.

Based on VOI monitoring, Djoko Tjandra arrived at the Halim Perdanakusuma VVIP runway at around 22:45 WIB. Wearing orange clothes with tight police escort.

"On the orders of the National Police Chief, we immediately formed a special team to intensively search for Djoko Tjandra's whereabouts in Malaysia," said Komjen Listyo, Thursday, July 30.

He explained that the National Police Chief had coordinated directly with the Malaysian Police to bring Djoko Tjandra home to Indonesia. Through the Police to Police coordination between the National Police and the Malaysian Police.

"This afternoon we have received the relevant information and this afternoon the Criminal Investigation Department immediately went to Malaysia to do the collection, and now the convict has been successfully secured," he continued.

Djoko Tjandra is a fugitive in the case of transfer of rights which resulted in the replacement of Bank Bali's creditors amounting to Rp904 billion. The Attorney General's Office detained Joko Tjandra from 29 September 1999 to August 2000. However, a judge at the South Jakarta District Court ruled that he was acquitted of charges because his actions were not criminal but civil.

In addition, the AGO submitted a PK against Djoko's case to the Supreme Court in October 2008. Finally, the panel of judges sentenced Djoko Tjandra to two years in prison and had to pay Rp. 15 million. Joko's money at Bank Bali Rp.546.166 billion was seized by the state.
