Still A Pandemic! PSI Asks Anies Not To Withhold Too High Taxes Next Year
JAKARTA - Next year, the DKI Provincial Government projects tax revenues from the hotel sector to reach Rp1.45 trillion, the restaurant sector Rp3.55 trillion, and the entertainment sector Rp600 billion.
This figure is contained in the draft document of the General Budget Policy and the Priority of the Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) of the DKI APBD for the 2022 budget year.
In response to this, Member of Commission C of the DKI DPRD from the PSI faction, Eneng Maliyanasari, views that the projected income from tax collection is still too high. However, the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging.
“If we look at the planned revenue posture, we still collect too much tax from the hotel, restaurant and entertainment sectors. It's best if we give them a chance to recover in 2022," Eneng told reporters, Wednesday, November 3.
Eneng admitted that currently the pandemic condition in the capital city is more under control, with COVID-19 cases starting to slow down and activities starting to relax for the sake of economic recovery.
However, there are still various uncertainties in the policy of restrictions throughout the year ahead. It all depends on the development of the pandemic. Therefore, he asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan through his subordinates to provide relaxation to several sectors affected by the pandemic by not projecting too high tax revenues.
Eneng assessed that the business sector, especially hotels, restaurants and entertainment, needs to be given the opportunity to rise from the economic downturn in 2022.
"Next year they have to improve the situation because the last 2 years have been a lot of losses, not to mention we can't confirm the pandemic situation in 2022." said Eneng.
