Kemenhub Releases New Rules For Sea Ship Passengers, Must Heed!
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has released the latest regulations for passengers of ship transportation. Passengers are required to show a negative result of the rapid antigen test whose maximum sample is taken 1x24 hours.
This rule is contained in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Ministry of Transportation Number 95 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Sea Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said that ship passengers are also required to show a COVID-19 vaccine card. Passengers are required to show proof that they have been vaccinated at least the first dose.
"Ocean passengers who will travel from and/or to ports throughout Indonesia are required to show a vaccine card and a certificate of negative rapid antigen test results," Adita said in an official statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, November 3.
Meanwhile, the obligation to show a vaccine card is exempted for travelers under the age of 12, travelers for logistics and other goods transportation who travel domestically outside Java-Bali, as well as travelers with special health conditions.
In addition, the Ministry of Transportation is also cooperating with several parties in implementing the new rules for ship travel. Some of these parties include the Regional Covid-19 Handling Task Force, regional governments, the Transportation Service, and the TNI/Polri.
"This SE of the Ministry of Transportation is set and comes into effect on Tuesday 2 November 2021 until a time will be determined later and can be extended according to the latest developments in the field," Adita explained.
Travel rules for ship passengers were previously regulated through SE Number 91 of 2021 concerning Amendments to SE Number 87 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Sea Transportation during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic.
Under the old rules, ship passengers were required to show a negative result of RT-PCR whose samples were taken a maximum of 3x24 hours. However, passengers can also show negative results of rapid antigen tests whose samples are taken a maximum of 1x24 hours.
