Doctors Asked To Rest And Stop Horse Riding, Queen Elizabeth II Drives Car At Windsor Castle
JAKARTA - Britain's Queen Elizabeth II was caught driving her own car around the Windsor Castle estate on Monday, days after doctors told her to rest for at least two weeks and not make an official visit.
Wearing sunglasses and a head covering, the Queen is behind the wheel. Citing CNN November 2, the picture has become a welcome sight amid concerns about his health.
Last month, the Queen was forced to cancel a trip to Northern Ireland and spent the night at King Edward VII hospital in central London, where doctors carried out "preliminary tests" and advised her to rest for a few days.
At the time, a source close to the palace told CNN Queen Elizabeth II was staying in hospital, but "not related to COVID."
On Friday, Buckingham Palace said the Queen had been advised to rest for another two weeks, adding the Queen remained on "light duty" at the palace.
"His Majesty's doctors have advised him to continue to rest for at least the next two weeks," the palace said in a statement.
"The doctors have advised His Majesty to continue to perform light duties at the table during this time, including some virtual hearings, but not to make any official visits," the statement continued.
Caught driving the plantations around Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II is known for taking her Corgis for walks in the area.
Officials say the Queen will not attend the annual Memorial Festival at Royal Albert Hall on November 13, but it is her "firm intention" to attend Memorial Sunday services at the Cenotaph in London the following day.
Speaking on Saturday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has a weekly audience with the Queen, confirmed he had spoken to Her Majesty and said the Queen was in excellent condition.
"He just has to follow the advice of his doctor and rest and I think that's important. The whole country wishes him the best," said PM Johnson.
As previously reported, Queen Elizabeth II was forced to temporarily stop her hobby of horse riding. The 95-year-old Queen of the United Kingdom was asked to give up her beloved hobby in early September but is determined to get back into the saddle soon, riding her beloved horse.
Quoting the Daily Mail October 29 from The Sun, the Queen, who is known for her love of horseback riding and as a big fan of racing, hasn't ridden a horse since she took a summer vacation to Scotland.
Citing a source from Balmoral Castle, the holiday home of the Scottish royal family, the newspaper reported Queen Elizabeth II was 'a little uncomfortable.'
"He loves horse riding and it has been a part of his ritual for most of his life," the source said. "He's very disappointed that he hasn't gone horseback riding since early September," the source continued.
However, the Queen has refused to give up on her favorite hobby, and according to a royal insider quoted by The Sun, the Queen is eager to return after taking some time off to rest.
