Bayern Vs Benfica 5-2: Lewandowski Carves A Hat-trick, Die Roten Advances To The Last 16 Of The Champions League
JAKARTA - Bayern Munich are certain to qualify for the round of 16 after successfully thrashing Benfica with a score of 5-2 in the Champions League Group E match at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday morning.
Robert Lewandowski scored three goals for Bayern, while Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane scored the other two goals. Meanwhile, Benfica had time to reduce the lag thanks to goals from Morato and Darwin Nunez.

Benfica tried to immediately appear aggressive at the beginning of the first half. After five minutes of walking, Bayern began to dominate the game.
In the 15th minute, Benfica scored a goal through Lucas Verissimo's flick from close range. However, this goal was disallowed because Pizzi was already in an offside position.
Bayern finally opened their scoring in the 26th minute through Lewandowski's header from close range after continuing in Kingsley Coman's cross. Score 1-0 to the hosts.

Six minutes later, Bayern doubled their lead through Gnabry's heel after receiving a pass from Goretzka. The lead is 2-0.
Not wanting to be silent, Benfica managed to reduce the lag in the 38th minute thanks to Morato's header welcoming Alex Grimaldo's cross. The score becomes 2-1.
Towards the end of the first half, Bayern were awarded a penalty after VAR considered Verissimo to have handball in the forbidden box.
However, the execution of Lewandowski's penalty could be thwarted by Odisseas goalkeeper Vlachodimos and the 2-1 score lasted until the break.
After the break, Bayern did not reduce their pressure and proved fruitful in the 49th minute through Sane's shot into the right corner of the Vlachodimo goal after receiving Alphonse Davies' cross from. Bayern won 3-1.
Lewandowski made amends for his penalty miss by scoring in the 61st minute with a lob in the box after finding the ball from Sane. Benfica trailed 1-4.
Benfica reduced the gap in the 74th minute through Darwin Nunez. Joao Mario dribbled into the Bayern defense and pulled off a cross which was completed by Nunez. The score becomes 4-2.
Bayern finally sealed their victory in the 84th minute through Lewandowski's third goal.
Neuer provided a direct long pass for Lewandowski in the Benfica defence. Just dealing with Vlachodimos, the Polish striker again poked the ball into the goal.
The 5-2 score lasted until the game was over.
