Kukar Regency Government Allocates IDR 1.5 Billion Funds To Repair The Tanjung Limau-Muara Badak Bridge

TENGGARONG - The government of Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) Regency, East Kalimantan (Kaltim) has allocated a budget of Rp. 1.5 billion to repair the bridge that connects Sambera, Tanjung Limau Village and Muara Badak District. This bridge has been in the spotlight on regional information social media timelines.

"The allocation of Rp1.5 billion in funds comes from the 2021 Revised Regional Budget and is currently still in the project auction stage," said Head of Highways of the Kukar Public Works Agency, Restu Irawan in Tenggarong, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 2.

It was emphasized that the bridge project is not rebuilding the bridge but handling the rehabilitation of the bridge.

There are two construction options namely cementization and steel plate. However, they cannot say for sure because it will be discussed first.

According to him, the rehabilitation of the bridge will be carried out immediately, because the Sambera-Muara Badak bridge is the main access to tourist attractions and Marangkayu District, as well as alternative access roads to Bontang City.

"So traffic access is also a separate consideration in determining the construction of the bridge's ground floor. It is still being studied in one week, hopefully there will be results," he said.

Restu Irawan continued to add that if it is cemented, the bridge must automatically be completely closed so that it does not sway during the construction process. Because the characteristics of the concrete that has not entered its age when there is a shake will break.

While using a steel plate there is no diversion of traffic flow. if it is later to use a concrete building, a traffic shift will be carried out, because there is no alternative road.

"Starting at the Muara Badak intersection, don't go to Tanjung Limau Village and if you want to go to Marangkayu, take the Samarinda-Bontang axis road," said Restu Irawan.
