Central Jakarta Police Investigators Set 4 Hospital Security Officers In Salemba As Suspects Of Persecution
JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police investigators named four security guards at a hospital in Salemba as suspects in the case of assault that resulted in the death of Iwan Kuniawan.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Wisnu Wardana, confirmed that four people had been named as suspects.
"It's true," he told reporters, Tuesday, November 2.
Perpetrators are subject to Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding the perpetrators who jointly result in the victim's death.
Meanwhile, the attorney for the victim's family, Ujang Wartono, said that the family of the late Iwan Kurniawan hoped that the four security guards who had now been named as suspects would soon be behind bars.
"The victim's extended family hopes that the perpetrators should be imprisoned. If there is mediation, they may be asked to withdraw the report later," Ujang told reporters, Tuesday, November 2.
As for this mediation request, said Ujang, it was initiated by the labor distribution service or outsourcing the place that distributed the work of the four suspects.
"The wishes of the victim's wife are that there are 3 demands, first an apology, the second the legal process is still ongoing and the third is the provision of compensation," he said.
Since the deadly incident occurred, the victim's wife has to support her two children alone. It was difficult for the wife of the victim, because she came from a poor family.
The mediation which was planned to take place today was also canceled due to unclear matters. Even though later through the mediation, the victim's family can submit the demands that have been prepared.
"It was supposed to be yesterday (mediation) but when I was on my way it said it was replaced today at 4, after I got ready I kept on calling and said tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10 like that," he said.
Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police named four security guards at Radjak Hospital as suspects in the case of abuse that resulted in Iwan Kuniawan's death on Friday, October 28.
