Holding A Grand Meeting, WADA Talks About LADI Institutions That Must Have An Independent Attitude
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency (LADI) held a virtual grand meeting with the World Ant Doping Agency (WADA), Tuesday, November 2, to discuss accelerating the lifting of sanctions imposed by WADA on Indonesia.
In this meeting, WADA provided several inputs related to matters that must be immediately fulfilled and corrected by LADI. One of them, the WADA representative mentioned the LADI institution which should have an independent attitude.
Furthermore, they emphasized that there is a need for openness and cooperation regarding information and the realization of anti-doping among sports organizations, such as KOI and KONI. This should be put forward in order to avoid miscommunication between the parties.
On this occasion, the Chairperson of LADI for the 2021-2025 period, Musthofa Fauzi also explained developments related to LADI's latest efforts in overcoming problems. According to him, LADI has succeeded in resolving several problems that have arisen before this.
This meeting was also attended by South Asia Regional Anti-Doping (SEARADO), Japan Anti-Doping (JADO), the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) and the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). There is also the Director General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance and representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Gatot S. Dewa Broto who was present on behalf of the Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his gratitude and appreciation for all related parties.
Gatot said, the Ministry of Youth and Sports will continue to support LADI in fulfilling all WADA requirements and directives so that LADI and Indonesia can fly the Red and White flag again in the national and international arena.
