Police Secured 16 Homemade Firearms From Orang Rimba After The Shooting Case Of A Palm Oil Company Security Guard In Jambi

JAMBI - Jambi Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Yudawan said that so far his party had secured 16 long-barreled homemade firearms (senpi) called short-sleeved people from the jungle or the Anak Dalam Tribe.

"To this day there have been as many as 16 kecepek shoots that have been received by the police either by confiscation or being handed over by the head of the SAD group (temenggung) and the police will continue to carry out operations to withdraw homemade firearms from residents and groups of jungle people," said Brigadier General Yudawan. quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 2.

He said this was in line with the handling of shooting cases by jungle people or Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) to three security guards of the plantation company PT PKM in Sarolangun Regency, last week.

The police appealed to all residents or members of the SAD group to continue to comply with the regulations.

The Jambi Deputy Police Chief promised that the police would handle the case according to the applicable legal procedures and processes. For this reason, he hopes that the community will remain calm because the police are now carrying out their duties to enforce the law according to existing procedures and rules.

"I ask the Sarolangun Police to enforce the law according to the rules against the Anak Dalam Tribe who shot three security guards at a palm oil company in Air Hitam sub-district, Sarolangun district," he said.

In this case, according to him, the SAD residents used a long-barreled homemade firearm or commonly called a short-lived citizen to shoot three security guards of the palm oil company PT PKM.

As a result of the gunfire, the three PT PKM security guards suffered gunshot wounds to their hands and feet. The three security guards have been treated intensively at the Colonel Abundjani Bangko general hospital, Merangin. He said the police would examine the witnesses.

"Everything will continue to be monitored the same and the case will be of interest to all of us and will understand the problem," said Yudawan.

Meanwhile, the police have communicated with the Regent and Deputy Regent of Sarolangun regarding the handling of SAD residents involved in the shooting and will be handled in accordance with applicable procedures.

Meanwhile, a team from the Jambi Regional Police, led directly by the Deputy Director of the Jambi Regional Police, AKBP Trisaksono Puspo Aji, has also been dispatched to see firsthand the handling of the case, communicate with the community, and check the progress of the case. The police have also sent a companion team from KKI Warsi to bridge communication with SAD residents.

"The police will use persuasive means and we will invite the leadership of the SAD or the Temenggung who we consider to be the traditional leaders of the SAD to invite the shooter to come to the Resort Police or to the nearest Polsek for questioning while carrying a short rifle when shooting. against the security guard of the palm oil company," he said.
