This Is The Culprit Of Bad Odors And Drainage Blockages In Tanjungpinang
JAKARTA - The Tanjungpinang City Environment Agency (DLH), Riau Islands, detected 33 illegal trash cans scattered throughout the village which cause air pollution and blockage of drainage.
Head of DLH Tanjungpinang Riono in Tanjungpinang, Tuesday said, until now there are still many residents who throw garbage on the side of the road, which eventually accumulates.
In that location, many rats and other animals were found.
"We call it a wild trash can. Every day the janitor cleans it, because it is always there. If it is not cleaned it can cause environmental problems, including health problems," he said, Tuesday, November 2, quoted from Antara.
According to him, residents who throw garbage carelessly are often reprimanded by the cleaning staff and Satpol PP. However, residents who were reprimanded continued to dispose of their garbage indiscriminately.
Whereas the Tanjungpinang City Government provides temporary waste disposal sites that are almost evenly distributed throughout Tanjungpinang. People should use the trash can.
"There are 37 trash containers, 8 permanent trash bins and 9 communal trash bins scattered in Tanjungpinang," he said.
According to him, garbage dumped on the side of the road has the potential to cause ditches to become clogged, which eventually leads to poor drainage. As a result, water from the ditch overflows onto the road when the forest is dense.
"One of the causes of the puddle of water on the road until it enters the housing, the ditch is clogged because of the garbage that has accumulated in the ditch," he said.
He called on the public to live a healthy life by disposing of garbage in its place. Garbage that is dumped in any place will only harm yourself and the community.
"We hope that people are more aware of disposing of waste in its place. This is for our common interest," he said.
