There Are No Suspects In The Case Of Rachel Vennya's Escape, This Is What The Police Say

JAKARTA - Until now, the police have not identified a suspect for the escape of Rachel Venny from Wisma Atlet Pademangan. The reason is that the investigative team still needs witness and expert testimony.

"There are still other witnesses, perhaps expert witnesses," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Tuesday, November 2.

In addition, the investigative team will also look for other evidence first. The aim is to strengthen the testimony of witnesses and the evidence that has been collected so far.

"We are still finalizing who else should be examined and other evidence," said Yusri.

After examining witnesses, experts, and collecting evidence, Yusri continued, investigators will conduct a case title. Thus, it will be determined whether or not Rachel Vennya is named a suspect.

"Yes, we'll wait. Can we determine her (Rachel Vennya) as a suspect," said Yusri. Rachel Vennya was known to have run away while undergoing quarantine at the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet after a vacation from the United States.

Kodam Jaya as the Command of the COVID-19 Integrated Joint Task Force delegated the case of Rachel Vennya's escape to the Police.

During the investigation process, the Jaya Regional Military Command found the involvement of two members of the TNI who served in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Security Task Force, Tangerang and Wisma Atlet Pademangan. They allegedly arranged for celebrity Rachel Vennya to escape quarantine.

In the handling of the police, this case has been upgraded from investigation to investigation status. Because, the case is considered to meet the elements of criminality.

So, in the process of handling the case, the police just need to collect additional evidence. In the end, the suspect was identified.
