Viral Video Of Polantas Asking For Onions Has Been Checked By Propam, Turns Out Airport Police Personnel

JAKARTA - Circulating on social media the actions of traffic police officers (polantas) who are suspected of carrying out illegal levies (extortion). Where, the traffic police officer gave the truck a ticket but instead asked for a sack of onions in exchange for the fine.

The action of the Polantas was uploaded to the Twitter account @Pasifisstate. Later, the alleged extortion took place in the Tangerang area, Banten.

The Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono, who was confirmed about the viral video, also confirmed it.

In fact, the police officers are being investigated by the Polda Metro Jaya Propam.

"Currently it has been secured, Propam Polda conducts an examination of the person concerned," said Argo when confirmed, Tuesday, November 2.

However, when asked about the identity of the traffic police, Argo was reluctant to share it. However, he stated that Polantas is a member of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police.

"Member of Airport Traffic (Soekarno-Hatta)," Argo said.
