To Jokowi, Prime Minister Of Slovenia Says Indonesia Has Great Economic Potential
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Jansa on the sidelines of the UNFCC COP26 2021 meeting in the main waiting room, Scottish Event Campus, Glasgow, Scotland, last Monday.
During this meeting, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi and Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya.
To Jokowi, the leader of the country located in Central Europe said that Indonesia has great economic potential. So, Slovenia also pays attention to Indonesia.
"Indonesia has great economic potential, so it is important for the European Union to pay greater attention to Indonesia," said Janez Jansa, quoted on the Cabinet Secretariat website, Tuesday, November 2.
Jokowi also appreciated Janez Jansa for her commitment to strengthening relations between Indonesia and Slovenia, as well as Indonesia and the European Union.
Jokowi said that efforts to strengthen Indonesia-EU cooperation have been discussed with France as the holder of the next EU presidency and also with the President of the European Council.
Furthermore, Jokowi hopes that Slovenia will push for the finalization of the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations. In addition, Jokowi also conveyed related environmental issues.
"Regarding environmental cooperation, I regret that there is still discriminatory treatment by the European Union against Indonesian sustainable palm oil," said Jokowi.
