Persib Returns Two Players Early Before Facing Persela

JAKARTA - Persib coach, Robert Rene Alberts, appointed two of his players to return to Bandung ahead of the 2021 Indonesian Liga 1 sequel. The two players who left first from Yogyakarta were Supardi Nasir and Puja Abdillah.

Regarding the repatriation of the two players, apparently Robert had his own reasons. The coach said the two players were injured.

“Supardi has to rest first because of an abductor injury. Even though I haven't had the chance to play yet," Robert was quoted as saying on the club's official website, Tuesday, November 2.

Previously, it was known that Supardi Nasir was indeed injured while undergoing training camp ahead of the match against Bhayangkara FC in mid-October. For this reason, he was sent home early to maximize his injury recovery.

Meanwhile, the same applies to Puja Abdillah. He suffered an injury while undergoing joint training in Yogyakarta.

"Because of his injury, we sent Puja home for recovery time," continued the coach.

Persib itself is actually scheduled to meet Persela Lamongan in the 11th week of the 2021 Indonesian League 1 on Thursday, November 4. With the coach's decision, Supardi and Puja will certainly not appear in the match at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman.

Robert then hopes that Supardi and Puja can make good use of the rest time given. This was so that both of them could quickly recover and re-charge Maung Bandung's strength.

"That way they can return to training when we come to Bandung," he said.
