Peter F Gontha Reveals Expensive Garuda Indonesia Airplane Rental Fees, KPK: Report With Initial Data
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked all parties suspected of having evidence regarding the difference in the cost of chartering Garuda Indonesia flights to report with the initial data.
This was conveyed in response to the issues that circulated after former Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk, Peter F. Gontha spoke about the more expensive rental prices for state-owned airlines.
In his upload on Instagram, Peter not only revealed the difference in costs but also admitted that he had gone to the Director General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Chairman of the KPK to discuss the issue.
"The public please report to us with the initial data they have through the KPK complaint channel," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, November 2.
He said the role of the community in dealing with corruption is important. Moreover, said Ali, many corruption cases handled by the KPK came from incoming reports.
"We are well aware that the KPK's success so far in uncovering various modes of corruption cannot be separated from the active role of the community because not a few cases handling at the KPK stems from public reports," he said.
Later, all reports along with the initial data submitted will be analyzed and verified by the anti-corruption commission. After that, the Corruption Eradication Commission will conduct a study of the alleged reported riots.
"If the results of the study and study find indications of a criminal incident, then it is possible that the KPK will take the next steps according to the applicable law," Ali explained.
There are various ways that can be accessed by the public to report suspected criminal acts of corruption, namely through the WhatsApp short message application service at number 0811959575 and electronic mail or e-mail complaint@kpk.go.id.
Not only that, the public can also access the KPK Whistle Blower System by accessing http://kws.kpk.go.id; SMS 08558575575; as well as through the 198 call center.
As previously reported, after leaving the comfortable seat of the Garuda Indonesia commissioner, Peter opened up the ulcers one by one from the national flag carrier.
First, Peter assessed that Garuda had bought the wrong CRJ1000 plane. It is said that the price factor is too expensive and the incompatibility with geographical conditions makes this jet vehicle redundant for Indonesia.
Two, the difference in aircraft rental fees is considered too high from the actual calculation. Third, there are groups not from BUMN that are too powerful and continue to hold companies hostage for their own interests.
"Now with the plan to reduce planes, they are the victims themselves. They don't have jobs and will lose everything. That's when some people influence their colleagues," said Peter.
Fourth, the attitude of the trade unions who are members of the Garuda Pilots Association (APG) who charge up to half a million rupiah to each cockpit crew for decades without any clarity on the use of funds.
