Campus League Hopes for Many Basketball Talents in the National Round of Season I

JAKARTA - Campus League hopes that they can get the best talents of Indonesian basketball players who will compete in the national round for the basketball sport this week.

The national round with the title Campus League 2026-Basketball The Nationals Season I officially rolled out on Sunday, June 7-13, 2026 at the Basketball Court of Pelita Harapan University (UPH), Tangerang, Banten. The opening ceremony was also held.

Campus League CEO, Ryan Gozali, in his statement said that this national phase would be a proving ground for the best teams of Season I, who successfully became champions and runners-up in each region.

"We hope that many new talents will emerge. So, show your highest level. Hopefully this is the beginning of our big dream," he said Ryan in an official statement received.

This is the first edition of the national round held so it will automatically become part of the history of the long journey of the Campus League, an event that was inspired by the campus league from developed countries.

Associate Vice President of Student Development and Alumni & Corporate Relation UPH, Andry M. Panjaitan, hopes that the series of competitions which will last for one week will run smoothly.

"We are grateful and proud to welcome our student athletes. We hope that in the course of this competition, it can make us continue to develop, advance, and connect with each other," he said.

Campus League 2026-Basketball The Nationals Season I was attended by 10 best boys' teams and eight girls' teams from five regions, namely Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Samarinda, Bandung, and Jakarta.

Dave Leopold as Head of Competition & Talent Development Campus League believes that the national phase will be exciting and full of fierce competition from each team, both the male and female sectors.

"If you look at the results of the draw, then there is no team that benefits. In each group, the strength can be said to be evenly matched," he said.

One of the excitement in the first match of the 2026 Campus League 2nd Round - Basketball The Nationals Season I was a meeting full of prestige which was a rematch from the Jakarta regional final, namely between Binus Jakarta and UPH Tangerang.

In the women's sector match, the host UPH Tangerang successfully avenged their defeat in the Jakarta regional final against Binus Jakarta with a score of 61-51.

Meanwhile, in the men's sector, Jakarta regional runner-up Binus made a surprise by defeating the Bandung regional champion, Maranatha Christian University, with a score of 66-52.

The 2026 Campus League Group Stage - Basketball The Nationals Season I is scheduled for June 7-11, 2026 using a half-competition system (round-robin). The two best teams from each group will advance to the semifinals (playoff).

Each winner from the playoff round of the men's and women's categories will then compete for the title of champion. Meanwhile, the team that loses in the semifinals will face each other to compete for the third podium.

The national round champion in the men's category will represent Indonesia to the international Asian University Basketball League (AUBL). The tournament is attended by flagship campuses from various countries in Asia such as China, Mongolia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China Taipei, the Philippines, Australia, and Malaysia.
