Novel Baswedan Will Be Tested Again After Being Tested Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan will again carry out a swab test after he is tested positive for COVID-19. Besides Novel, his family will also take a swab test.

"Today, Bang Novel will conduct another swab test along with his family at his residence," said the head of the KPK Employee Council (WP) Yudi Purnomo to reporters, Friday, August 28.

He said that his colleague is currently in good health and doing independent isolation. The novel, said Yudi, will also not work until it is declared recovered.

"We hope that Bang Novel will recover quickly and be able to rejoin us, the other KPK employees, to continue to eradicate corruption in this country, even though it is currently a pandemic period," he said.

Meanwhile Novel Baswedan via his Twitter account @nazaqistsha said he felt healthy and did not experience any symptoms such as shortness of breath or fever. He is currently carrying out independent isolation.

Previously, there were 9 employees from several units of the KPK directorate, 4 non-employees, and a prisoner who tested positive for COVID-19.

It was explained that they were confirmed to be exposed to COVID-19 after running a swab test conducted by the Ministry of Health's BBTLKPP some time ago. After that, they carried out independent isolation and for prisoners who tested positive are now undergoing isolation and treatment at the Police Hospital.
