JAKARTA - Kaspersky's latest statistics show a decline in cyber threats detected in Indonesia, during the second quarter (April June) 2023.

The number of online threats fell 30 percent to 7,729,320 detections in Q2 2023, from the previous 11,083,474 detections in the same period last year. The decline also occurred in local threats with 13,015,667 detections, from the previous 13,533,656 detections last year.

General Manager for Southeast Asia at Kaspersky, Yeo Siang Tiong said that although statistics showed a decline in domestic and local threats, according to him, the number of detections was still relatively high.

"Indonesia's popularity and high internet penetration means there is more data and sensitive information that appeals to cybercriminals," added Yeo.
