JAKARTA - Ahead of the 15th World Esports IESF World Esports Championships world tournament in Iasi, Romania later, the Executive Board of Esports Indonesia (PBESI) has confirmed four esports teams that will participate in the National Selection of the Esports Team for the Mobile Legends division: Bang Bang.
The four esports teams from Indonesia that will participate in the National Selection include the EVOS Legends team, defending champions at the 2022 World Esports IESF Bali, the MLBB Team Ladies who won the Cambodian SEA Games, EVOS Icon, MDL champions, and Bigetron Alpha as champions of H3RO esports 4.0.
The four teams will compete with each other to compete for tickets to fly to Romania, in their mission to represent Indonesia at the world championship event.
According to Garudaku's official website, the selected team was only taken from champions in various official tournaments recognized by PBESI. Therefore, only the four teams were invited to compete in the National Selection later.
Actually, PBESI also invited the MPL Season 11 winning team, ONIC Esports, to join the 2023 IESF Selection, but unfortunately, ONIC decided to resign from the National Selection because the timing was not right.
"PBESI as the Indonesian Esports Federation has summoned the ONIC Esports team to participate in the National Selection, but after we discussed internally, with several considerations, among others: The condition of the players after the long tournament and also the lack of preparation time," ONIC wrote in its announcement on Instagram.
IESF 15th World Esports Championships 2023 Iasi for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang itself will take place from August 25, 2023 to September 3, 2023.
Meanwhile, the total prizes that will be contested from the 16 countries that compete are US$100,000 or equivalent to Rp1.5 billion.
