Possibility Of Additional Bonuses For Athletes Achieved At The 2023 Asian Para Games, CdM Angela: According To The Minister's Directions

JAKARTA - The government, through the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo, said that there would be a bonus that would be given to Indonesian athletes who excel in the 2023 Asian Para Games. In fact, there will be additional bonuses.

Additional bonuses will be given if the Indonesian contingent is able to exceed the medal target given.

"For bonuses, of course, there must be. For Asian Para Games, it has been prepared," said Menpora Dito, as quoted by Antara.

"And later usually there is a policy of the President of Indonesia that is added or what, especially if it passes the target, there must be an (additional bonus)," he continued.

Chef de Mission (CdM) Indonesia for the 2023 Asian Para Games, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, also agreed with a statement from the Menpora. He said for additional bonuses from his party he would adjust to directions from the government.

"We will definitely prepare it according to the direction of the Minister," said Angela.

Until this news was revealed, the Indonesian contingent was in seventh position in the standings with three gold medals, four silver medals, and five bronze medals. The first gold today was won by sprinter Ni Made Arianti Putri through the women's 100m T12 run-off at the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium.

Arianti became the fastest by posting a time of 12.52 seconds. He was in front of the sprinter from Indiagur and the host runner Yaqin Shen, who was 0.16 seconds and 0.26 seconds from him, respectively.

Still from the Para athletics branch, sprinter Eko Saputra won a silver medal in the 100 m T12 running number with a time of 11.22 seconds.

On the same day, Indonesian lifter Ni Nengah Widiasih won the first medal for Indonesia in the Para weightlifting sport in the women's 45 kg number.

Meanwhile, the Red and White Squad itself is targeted to be able to finish in the top 10 of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games with 19 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze medals.
