Asian Games 2023: Karate Failed To Add Medals In Kumite Number

JAKARTA - The karate athlete who took part in the kumite number failed to add a medal treasurer for the Indonesian contingent at the 2023 Asian Games, Saturday, October 7. Sandi started his journey at the Asian Games this time by winning 6-1 over Abdulla Bibikr from Qatar but then losing 3-4 in the quarter-finals to Malaysian athlete Muhammad Arif Afifudd Bin Ab Malik.

Meanwhile, the 68 kilogram women's karateka Dessynta Rakawi Banurea immediately competed in the quarter-finals. But she was unable to do much and lost 0-2 to Hong Kong representative Kai Yan Ho.

Meanwhile, senior athlete Cok Istri Sanistyani started her appearance at the 2022 Asian Games by playing in the 55 kilograms class quarter-finals. The toddler Bali successfully overcomes the resistance of Jordanian Leen Mansour with a 3-0 victory.

In the semifinals, the athlete who is familiarly called Coki lost 3-7 to Taiwan's karateka Tusi-Ping Ku and made him fail to play the final match so he had to play a bronze medal match.

Unfortunately, in the bronze medal match, Coki lost 0-3 to Iran's karateka Fatemeh Saadati which forced him to go home empty-handed.

At the 2022 Asian Games, karate only contributed one bronze medal obtained by Ignatius Joshua Kandou in the men's 75 kilograms protocol class.
