Ibrahimovic Warns Erik Ten Hag Manchester United Is Different From Ajax

JAKARTA - Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic warned manager Erik ten Hag. Ibrahimovic is worried that Ten Hag is actually not the right person to handle MU.

The reason is, MU is clearly very different from Ajax Amsterdam, the club that Ten Hag handled before moving to MU.

A bad start to MU in the English Premier League competition is Ibrahimovic's concern who has played at Old Trafford for two seasons, 2016-2018. How not, one of the Premier League giants has lost four of their seven matches. This is MU's worst start in 34 years.

Even in the last league match, MU was forced to give up 1-0 by Crystal Palace. Ironically, when they met Palace at the Carabao Cup, MU even won 3-0.

Likewise in the Champions League. MU started with defeat. Playing at Bayern Munich, the Red Devils surrendered 4-3.

Bad results at the start of the season made Ibrahimovic feel that Ten Hag is not the right person to coach MU. Ten Hag is considered to have no experience dealing with MU with players who have big egos like MU.

Ibrahimovic, who has also played in Ajax, said that both teams have a very big difference. He considered it not time for Ten Hag to coach a big team despite achieving success in Ajax.

"From Ajax to MU it's definitely a huge difference. I've played in those two clubs. There are differences in discipline," said Ibrahimovic.

"Ajax is a club that has many talented players. Even Ajax is a club with the best talent and they don't have star players," he said.

"Then what experience does he have [Ten Hag]. He did successfully train talented young players. But he then came to MU with different mental conditions," Ibra continued.

According to him, MU players cannot get the same treatment as Ajax players. Ten Hag did show his power as a boss at MU like the era of Sir Alex Ferguson.

He kicked out the star, Cristiano Ronaldo and released goalkeeper David de Gea, the most senior player at MU. Finally, Ten Hag made a fuss with winger Jadon Sancho. Even Sancho, on the orders of Ten Hag, was not allowed to use the first team facilities.

Ferguson did the same thing when he kicked out a number of Manchester United star players. But he got a substitute who ended up bringing MU to the top of glory.

"How long does it take for the coach? It all depends on the owner. If you are busy listening to fans' voices, obviously you won't have time because they just want to win. I understand because MU has won and won many times. So supporters want to always win," said Ibra who brought MU to win the Europa League, Carabao Cup and Community Shield.

"MU has always been the champion. They win titles every year. Now, the situation has changed. This time, Manchester City, the dominant neighboring team," he said.

According to Ibrahimovic, the decline in MU is the responsibility of all parties. Not only Ten Hag but also the squad and managerial that must run on the right track.

Last season, Ten Hag brought Manchester United to win the Carabao Cup and was ranked third so they could compete in the Champions League. But United failed to stem Man City from equaling their record by winning trebles or three titles in one season.

MU has the opportunity to thwart this effort because he stepped into the FA Cup final. However, Man City won the trophy after winning 2-1.
