China Open 2023: Apri/Fadia Secure Quarter-Final Tickets

JAKARTA The third ticket for the quarter-finals of the China Open 2023 for Indonesia was obtained by the women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

The pair qualified after defeating Korean representatives Jeong Na-eun/Kim Hye-jeong in two straight games 21-16 and 21-18 at the Olympic Sport Center, China, Thursday, September 7, 2023.

"Obviously we are going through the winning and losing process. We are in a declining phase this year but we are trying to get back at the World Championships yesterday and the results have begun to show. We will continue to bring good, this confidence must be maintained with communication," said Apri after the match.

In the history of the meeting of the two pairs, this is Apriyani/Fadia's third win over Jeong/Kim from a total of four meetings.

Earlier in two meetings this year, the two pairs each shared one win. Apri/Fadia first won at the Malaysia Open and Jeong/Kim replied at the Malaysia Masters.

Another victory that Apri / Fadia won last year. The victory also occurred in the same place at the Axiata Arena during the Malaysia Open 2022.

In the quarter-finals which will take place tomorrow Friday, Apriyani/Fadia will face winner from Vivian Hoo/Lim Chiew Sien (Malaysia) against Korean pair Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee. The two pairs haven't played when this news was written.

Before Apri/Fadia, two tickets to the quarter-finals had been secured by Indonesia. The two tickets came from the men's singles Jonatan Christie and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito.

The two pairs will face each other face each other tomorrow. Therefore, Indonesia will definitely get one semifinal ticket from the men's singles sector.
