Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out the purchase of French national team striker Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer.

Mbappe, 24, has so far refused to sign a contract extension with PSG. This sparked speculation that he would join Los Blancos, sooner or later.

Les Parisiens is also open to selling the French captain rather than risk losing him for free when his contract expires next year.

However, Ancelotti dismissed the possibility of Madrid bringing in the player. The Italian tactician said that at this time his squad no longer needed new players.

"Not [will buy Kylian Mbappe]. I rule out the possibility of it being 100 percent," Ancelotti said as quoted by BBC Sport.

"I think our squad is closed [receiving new players] and our players are more focused on thinking about the season we will go through," he added.

Mbappe spent time practicing separately from PSG's first team this month in the middle of his contract deadlock. However, he was later called back after a serious conversation with the club.

The 2018 World Cup winner was not included in the club's opening game this season against Lorient but scored a penalty after coming on as a substitute for PSG's 1-1 draw with Toulouse last week.

In July, PSG gave permission to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal to speak to Mbappe. It happened after Al Hilal made an offer that broke a world record of 259 million.
