Quarterfinals Of The 2023 World Championships: 4 Indonesian Representatives In Action

JAKARTA Indonesia sent four representatives to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Badminton World Championships. The following is the complete schedule of their matches.

The four representatives, two of whom are from the men's doubles, while the other two are one each from the women's doubles and the other from the women's singles number.

Of the men's doubles numbers that reached the quarter-finals were Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

Hendra/Ahsan, who are the eighth seed, will face the ninth seeded Korean pair, Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae. This is the sixth meeting between the two pairs.

In the previous five clashes, the Korean pair won 3-2 wins. However, in the last clash at this year's Japan Open, The Daddies successfully beat them.

Meanwhile, Bagas/Fikri are the third seed in China, Liang Wei Yekong/Wang Chan. Liang/Wang won their only meeting before this at the Thailand Open 2023.

The third Indonesian representative is Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. This pair will meet the fifth seed from Japan, Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota.

Apri/Fadia have met the couple twice in total. However, two meetings, all of which are in this year, Apri/Fadia always give up losing.

Then another Indonesian representative is Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. This 24-year-old badminton player will face the second seed from Japan Akane Yamaguchi.

Gregoria just ended three consecutive defeats to Akane as the two last clashes at the Japan Open last July. It was Gregoria's fourth win of a total of 15 clashes.
