Djokovic After Losing To Carlos Alcaraz At Wimbledon 2023: He's My 'Cloning', Roger Federer And Rafael Nadal

JAKARTA - Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, must recognize Carlos Alcaraz's superiority in the 2023 Wimbledon final, Monday, July 17, early morning WIB.

Novak Djokovic believes Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz has "the best of the Big Three" talent, cloning his own talents, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Djokovic lost to the world number one through a game of four hours 42 minutes. Having won 6-1 in the first game, the tennis player nicknamed Djoker gave up in the next three sets 6-7 (6/8), 1-6, 6-3, and 4-6 at the Center Court.

The result destroyed Djokovic's 36-year-old attempt to claim an eighth title in his career. He also failed to reach a record at the All England Club and the 24th Grand Slam crown.

When asked what made 20-year-old Alcaraz a threat, the Serbian tennis star explained that he had the weapons he had, as well as Federer and Nadal, the "Big Three" tennis player who had collected 65 Grand Slam titles.

"I think he's basically the best of all three," Djokovic said, as broadcast by AFP quoted via Antara, Monday.

"People have spoken in the last 12 months about their game consisting of certain elements from Roger, Rafa, and myself. I agree with that," he continued.

Calling Alcaraz a "mentality of Spanish bull's competitiveness", Djokovic sees similarities in Nadal's famous fighting spirit and "extraordinary resistance".

Meanwhile, Alcaraz's backhand reminded Djokovic of his weapons.

"It's been my personal strength for years," said Djokovic.

"To be honest, I've never played players like him. Roger and Rafa have their own strengths and weaknesses. Carlos is a very complete player."

"The extraordinary adaptability that I think is the key to a long life and successful career on all surfaces," he continued.

Last month, Djokovic beat the Spaniard in the French Open semifinals when Alcaraz had cramps which he admitted was due to pressure against his opponent.

However, Alcaraz have now beaten Djokovic twice in their three meetings, beating him for the first time on clay at the Madrid Masters last year.

"It's really quality at the end of the game when you have to serve. It's hard to handle it when you're so close," Djokovic told the champion during the trophy handover ceremony at the Center Court.
